WireCraft opened its doors in 1991 when its founders recognized a need for the fabrication of small quantity, short-run wire products. Over the years our manufacturing capabilities have grown to include sheet metal fabrication and tube fabrication and bending services.

In June of 1997 we moved into our present manufacturing, warehousing and assembly facility in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This move has allowed us to better assist our customers with just-in-time shipments and drop shipping services. If you require special services such as painting, powder coating and vinyl coating, we'll arrange all necessary logistics with our suppliers in order to meet your scheduling requirements. The year 2001 saw the addition of another 12,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space.

The current ownership acquired WireCraft Manufacturing in July 2004 from the retiring proprietor, bringing a new level of mechanical engineering and financial management expertise to the enterprise. The shop was re-designed for improved work flow using manufacturing cells. The new ownership purchased additional equipment for tube fabricating and plasma cutting, and welding and forming equipment was upgraded. New lighting and other amenities were installed to improve safety and productivity.

Ron Handy, Owner

Ron received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University in 1982. Ron designed tools for Chicago-area metal fabricators upon graduation. He progressed to Project Manager and in 1990 was promoted to Engineering Manager of the Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin branch of a metal fabricating company with a presence in five states. Ron saw the opportunity to acquire WireCraft Manufacturing in 2004 and, given his education and experience, felt he could make significant operational improvements while enhancing a diverse, custom-manufactured product line.

Ron resides in Sturgeon Bay with his wife and three children. He is a member of the Sturgeon Bay Optimists Club, the Sturgeon Bay High School Booster Club and the Corpus Christi Church of Sturgeon Bay.
